366 Artists In 366 Days : Day 15 Number 352 Peanut Butter Conspiracy

Anything to do with peanut butter has got to be good, right?

And these guys are no exception to that rule.

Please enjoy some mighty fine 60s psychedelic pop...

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day 14 Number 353 Small Faces

Small Faces couldn't have been anything but English, could they?

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day 13 Number 354 Iron Butterfly

Iron Butterfly weren't just 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida' you know?
Although, the parent album is the 31st biggest seller in the world. Twenty-five million copies and
counting...

Here's an interesting piece of trivia (courtesy metalstorm.net):
Led Zeppelin opened for Iron Butterfly. A year to the day later, Iron Butterfly opened for Led Zeppelin. The ironic twist continued with the band, Yes...

FYI, the full version of IAGDV is the last track on my funeral CD, Putting The Fun In Funerals.
Best to be prepared.

And who can forget this gem...?

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day 12 Number 355 Steve Lucas / X

An artist I only discovered last year. And very pleased I did, too.

Originally Steve Lucas was a member of Aussie punk band, X. Punk is quite possibly in my Top 5 least favourite genres, but there's something about Steve that I like. He has a great, melodic (if slightly rough) voice.

Again, there isn't much to be found out there in YouTubeland, but here is a selection.

Fortunately Steve lives very near to me,  and performs often.

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day 11 Number 356 Darker My Love

Slim pickings on YouTube for a band I only discovered late 2010.
I was just about to put their debut release in my pile of CDs to sell at my first garage sale, when a friend suggested I give it a listen because it was 'right up my street'.
So, thank you, Kim W.
They're fab.
From Los Angeles, California, I give you Darker My Love.
A shit name, granted. But these guys make sweet music...

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day Ten Number 357 Gerry & The Pacemakers

Gerry & The Pacemakers was the first act to reach number one in the UK with their first three singles. (And their fourth release reached number two).
Interestingly, their fellow Liverpudlians, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, was the second act to do so.

I'm a big fan of Gerry Marsden's voice. He always sounds like he's happy.

Such a sad video. Utterly tragic.
A tribute to the 96 poor souls who lost their lives on 15th April 1989, at Hillsborough Stadium.
Most of the people killed were younger than 30 years old.

And just because I'll use any excuse to get anything of my Beatle boys in, here's a lovely snap...

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day Nine Number 358 Steve Winwood

I have risen from my death bed to bring you Day 9 of my blog.
And it's a goodie.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Steve Winwood...

366 Artists In 366 Days : Day Eight Number 359 Teenage Fanclub

Sometimes you can just let the music do the talking.
Take it away, Norman...
