True story: In the early 90s, when I was working in the disco business in London, I was called out to supply an emergency PA system for the Hammersmith Palais.
We set up radio mics and a rather basic amplifier and waited for the act to come on.
I was decidedly under-whelmed at the sight of these five young lads cavorting across the stage.
Indeed, I turned to my friend and said, 'Pah! One hit wonders. They'll never make it...'
